Overview
An underground passage connects RIHGA Royal Hotel Osaka, Vignette Collection directly to Nakanoshima Station, with Grand Cube Osaka next door. A complimentary shuttle to JR Osaka Station provides another route into the Umeda transport hub without requiring a walk to the nearest JR line.
The hotel has served Osaka for more than 90 years and now operates within IHG's Vignette Collection. Renovated rooms, extensive dining, meeting facilities, and a quieter river-island setting in Osaka-Nakanoshima define this large, full-service stay.
Rooms
Rooms range from compact Cozy doubles and twins to Standard, Premium, Grand, Suite, and Royal Club categories. Cozy rooms measure 17 to 19.5 square metres, most Standard rooms are roughly 27 to 33 square metres, and Grand rooms begin at about 41 square metres. The largest Royal Club suites reach 109 square metres.
The smaller rooms accommodate two guests, while selected Grand and suite layouts sleep three or four. Accessible queen and twin rooms are available. Royal Club bookings also include access to the 23rd-floor lounge, where breakfast, refreshments, and evening drinks are served.
Facilities
The fitness complex has a 25-metre indoor pool, a smaller exercise pool, a gym, and saunas. Pool and sauna use carries a guest fee rather than being included with every room. Other facilities include a shopping arcade, business services, parking, coin laundry, and 24-hour room service.
Guests can also reserve a complimentary direct bus to Universal Studios Japan. This is separate from the JR Osaka Station shuttle and should be booked in advance because the hotel controls capacity and departure arrangements.
Dining
Eighteen restaurants and bars span Japanese, French, Chinese, teppanyaki, Korean barbecue, and all-day dining. All Day Dining Remone serves buffet and à la carte breakfast, while Nadaman provides a Japanese breakfast option.
For lunch and dinner, breadth of choice matters more than any single signature venue. Several restaurants are inside the hotel, including high-floor Japanese and French dining, so conference guests and late arrivals don't need to leave the building for a full meal.
Location and transport
Nakanoshima Station is directly connected underground and serves the Keihan Nakanoshima Line. Trains run east through Watanabebashi, Oebashi, Naniwabashi, and Temmabashi before joining the wider Keihan network. Temmabashi provides an Osaka Metro transfer, while Kyobashi connects with JR lines.
The complimentary hotel shuttle runs between the hotel and the west side of JR Osaka Station. The scheduled ride takes about 15 minutes, although traffic and event congestion can add time. Shin-Fukushima Station and Hanshin Fukushima Station are about eight minutes away on foot, while JR Fukushima Station is about 15 minutes away.
Airport access
From Kansai International Airport, the simplest public transport routes first reach the Osaka Station or Namba areas. The JR Haruka and Kansai Airport Rapid serve the Osaka Station side of the city, where guests can continue by hotel shuttle or taxi. Nankai airport trains reach Namba, followed by a taxi or further rail transfers.
From Osaka International Airport at Itami, airport buses run to the Osaka Station and Umeda area. The final leg is by complimentary hotel shuttle or taxi. The hotel doesn't operate a direct airport shuttle from either airport.
Why stay here
The direct station connection is especially helpful for Grand Cube events and trips along the Keihan corridor. The JR Osaka Station shuttle broadens the transport options, while the pool, fitness facilities, room service, and extensive dining suit guests who want the services of a destination hotel rather than a compact business stay.
Western Nakanoshima is less hectic than Umeda or Namba. Grand Cube is beside the hotel, and the island's museums and cultural venues continue east toward Watanabebashi and Higobashi. The setting supports conferences, riverfront walks, and cultural visits, with the shuttle available when the wider JR network is more convenient.
Good to know
The complimentary Osaka Station shuttle has limited capacity and may be delayed by traffic, road works, or large events. Leave extra time before a reserved train or flight, and consider Keihan rail or a taxi when timing matters.
Pool and sauna use costs extra, and the Royal Lounge is limited to eligible room categories. Grand Cube and Nakanoshima Station are directly connected, but most major Osaka Metro and JR journeys still require a transfer or the hotel shuttle.
