Overview
Premier Hotel -CABIN PRESIDENT- Hakodate is designed for a smooth arrival and an uncomplicated stay. The hotel is beside Hakodate Station, Hakodate Ekimae Tram Station, and Hakodate Ekimae Bus Terminal, so JR trains, city trams, airport buses, and Hakodate Morning Market are all within a short walk. It offers the convenience of a station-front hotel with a more polished feel than a simple transit stop.
Rooms
Rooms range from compact singles and doubles to twins, upper-floor Premier rooms, deluxe twins, and night-view suite or twin layouts. All rooms are non-smoking, with sizes from 15 to 46 square meters, giving solo travelers, couples, and small groups several options near the station.
Facilities
Facilities are aimed at making a short Hakodate stay easier, including a laundromat, amenity bar, microwave and ice machines, welcome beverage service, and a fourth-floor relaxation room. Seasonal rental bicycles are available from April to October by reservation.
Dining
Breakfast is served buffet-style at Harbor Dining on the second floor, with seafood and seasonal Hokkaido ingredients alongside Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. In the evening, Bar Esterado on the thirteenth floor offers city-light views, drinks, sweets, and light meals in a quieter setting rather than a full dinner restaurant.
Location and transport
The hotel is in the Hakodate Station Area, about one minute on foot from the JR station, tram stop, and bus terminal. Hakodate Morning Market is also close by. From this station-front area, trams and buses make it straightforward to reach Motomachi, the Bay Area, Goryokaku, Yunokawa, and other city sights without first moving to another neighborhood.
Airport access
Hakodate Airport is reached by public bus from the station and bus terminal area, with the ride taking about 22 minutes. This is convenient airport-bus access, not a hotel-door shuttle.
Why stay here
This is for travelers who want Hakodate logistics to stay simple: arrive by train, keep the tram and airport bus nearby, start the morning with a strong breakfast, and finish the day with a drink and a view upstairs. The tradeoff is atmosphere. The setting is more about station-front convenience than the scenic character of Motomachi or the waterfront.
There is still plenty close at hand. Hakodate Morning Market is nearby for seafood breakfasts, and the city's classic sightseeing route continues toward Mount Hakodate, the Bay Area, Motomachi, Goryokaku, and Yunokawa by tram, bus, or short onward rides.
Good to know
Hokkaido Shinkansen trains do not stop in central Hakodate. If you arrive by bullet train, continue from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto Station to Hakodate Station before heading to the hotel.
