Overview
Kamakura Prince Hotel is located on a hillside above Shichirigahama Beach, west of central Kamakura. It works best for travelers who want sea views, Enoden access, and a coastal Shonan setting rather than a stay beside Kamakura Station.
Rooms
The hotel has 97 ocean-facing rooms. Standard layouts include twin, double, and Hollywood twin rooms of about 27 to 33 square meters, while suite rooms are larger at 59 and 72 square meters. Rooms on the third and fourth floors look toward Enoshima and Mt. Fuji when conditions are clear.
Facilities
Facilities are modest but useful for a coastal stay. The hotel has a souvenir shop, an ice maker, and bike sharing, with baby beds available on request. These are more relevant for guests planning a relaxed Shichirigahama stay or local Shonan exploring than for travelers who only need a quick central Kamakura base.
Dining
Le Trianon serves French cuisine and breakfast on the second floor, with ocean views from the dining room. Onzoshi Kiyoyasutei serves Japanese kaiseki in the annex building, and Lounge Ajisai works as a tearoom during the day and a bar lounge later in the evening.
Location and transport
Shichirigahama Station on the Enoden is the main rail anchor. From Kamakura Station or Fujisawa Station, the Enoden ride to Shichirigahama takes about 15 to 20 minutes, followed by an eight-minute walk from Shichirigahama Station along the seaside road to the banquet hall entrance and incline elevator.
A free scheduled shuttle also links Shichirigahama Station and the hotel, with a ride time of about five minutes when operating. Enoden connections make the hotel practical for Hase, central Kamakura, Enoshima, Fujisawa, and coastal stops, but airport and Shinkansen trips require rail transfers rather than a direct hotel connection.
Why stay here
Kamakura Prince Hotel makes the most sense for travelers who want the coastal side of Kamakura: Shichirigahama views, Enoden rides, beach walks, and easier access toward Enoshima. Travelers focused mainly on Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Komachi-dori, or early JR departures may find the Kamakura Station area simpler.
