Overview
Hotel Route-Inn Grand Asahikawa Ekimae works well when you want to keep JR connections, breakfast, and an in-house bath close together. The north exit of Asahikawa Station is about two minutes away on foot, so getting between the train and the lobby is straightforward even with luggage. From the station, the JR Hakodate Main Line, Soya Main Line, and Furano Line support both Asahikawa plans and onward side trips by rail.
The surrounding Asahikawa Station Area also keeps everyday needs nearby. A Seicomart is in the same building, and other convenience stores are only a few minutes away on foot for late snacks or small travel essentials.
Rooms
Room choices range from compact business-hotel layouts to larger twin options. Single rooms are 13 sq m and have a 130 x 196 cm bed, while semi-double rooms are 15 sq m. Standard twins are 18 sq m and have two 110 x 196 cm beds. Double rooms have a 160 x 196 cm bed, and deluxe twins can add a 100 x 190 cm sofa bed.
Guest rooms include Wi-Fi, a refrigerator, and a humidifying air purifier. Entertainment options include paid VOD and WOWOW. Some rooms are designated for heated tobacco, and some inventory is on a floor with a smoking corner, so check the booking conditions carefully if smoke sensitivity matters.
A barrier-free single can be reserved by phone. It has flat entries to the room and bathroom. The unit bath uses a sliding bath/toilet door, with handrails and space for wheelchair movement.
Facilities
The 17th-floor public bath has separate men's and women's areas and uses natural hot spring water that is diluted, heated, and circulation-filtered. Bath hours run from 15:00 to 2:00 and again from 5:00 to 10:00, making it possible to bathe after a later arrival or before the 10:00 checkout. Both bath areas have saunas with room for about five people. The women's bath also has ReFa FINE BUBBLE U showerheads.
Shared services make overnight and multi-night stays easier. The front desk operates 24 hours and can assist with luggage storage or parcel service. Coin-operated washers and dryers are available for longer trips. For quick refreshments, there is a self-service cafe, along with vending machines and ice machines. The hotel also has a meeting room, and an AED is provided for safety.
Dining
Breakfast is served at La Mer from 6:30 to 9:30. The buffet covers Japanese and Western breakfast styles, with hot dishes included in the spread. Baked breads are also offered, including croissants and Danish pastries.
Breakfast costs 1,800 yen for adults and 1,000 yen for elementary-school children; infants eat free. Guests who book through the hotel's official site receive breakfast without an extra charge. The breakfast restaurant is limited to overnight guests.
Location and transport
The hotel is a two-minute walk from the north exit of Asahikawa Station, which keeps transfers short and simple. By car, the Do-o Expressway approach takes about 20 minutes from Asahikawa-Takasu IC or about 30 minutes from Asahikawa-Kita IC.
For guests driving, the paid tower garage has 176 first-come spaces for overnight guests. The overnight fee is 800 yen, and mechanical vehicle restrictions apply. If you are arriving late or driving a larger vehicle, check the limits in advance. Miura Ayako Literature Museum and Science Museum CyPal are about 10 minutes by car, while Asahiyama Zoo is about 40 minutes away.
Airport access
From Asahikawa Airport, Asahikawa Electric Tramway airport buses run toward central Asahikawa in about 30 to 40 minutes. Dohoku Bus also operates a direct local service to Asahikawa Station that takes about 35 minutes. From the north exit, the walk to the hotel is about two minutes.
Airport buses are planned around flights, but other local and intercity buses may not line up as neatly with departure times. Leave a buffer, especially on busy travel days or when connecting to a specific flight.
Why stay here
Choose this hotel for the short walk from Asahikawa Station, the 17th-floor hot spring bath, and breakfast without leaving the building. It is especially convenient for itineraries using the Hakodate Main Line, Soya Main Line, or Furano Line. The bath floor and sauna make downtime easier after travel, while the laundry facilities help between work days or sightseeing trips.
Drivers benefit from the on-site parking capacity, but the mechanical garage makes vehicle dimensions important. For guests arriving by train, the short walk from the north exit is the clearest advantage.
Good to know
Check-in is 15:00, and checkout is 10:00. Breakfast service is only for overnight guests. Parking is paid and first come, first served for overnight guests. Late arrivals with a car should have another option in mind if the tower garage is full or the vehicle exceeds the mechanical limits.
Barrier-free room reservations are handled by telephone. Confirm any smoking or heated-tobacco conditions when booking. If a floor with a smoking corner matters to you, check that detail before reserving.
