Overview
From the subway, Hakata Tokyu REI Hotel is a one-minute walk away; JR and Shinkansen passengers have about a three-minute walk from the Hakata Exit of Hakata Station. The hotel is on the station's western side, close to the bus terminal and the shops and restaurants inside JR Hakata City.
The location handles transport first. Rooms start at 18 square metres, while a guest lounge with complimentary drinks provides somewhere to pause between check-in and the next train, flight, or city outing.

Single and double rooms occupy the compact end of the range, starting at 18 square metres. Twin and triple rooms measure 24.4 square metres, while the 27.6-square-metre options include a larger Concept Deluxe Twin and an accessible double room.
It's worth comparing the bathroom layouts. Some standard doubles have a unit bath, while others use a multifunction shower booth. The Superior Twin adds a bathtub and separate washing area. On the Concept floor, colours and design motifs draw on the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival.
Facilities
The guest lounge doubles as the breakfast room and remains open to staying guests during the day. Complimentary coffee and soft drinks are available from check-in onward, with snacks and welcome ice cream offered while supplies last.
Coin laundry rooms on the sixth and ninth floors are free to use, though detergent is sold separately. After the initial front-desk step, self-service kiosks handle payment and room-key issuance, which can shorten a routine arrival.
Dining
Breakfast is served in the lounge from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Last orders and buffet replenishment end at 9:30 AM. Rather than stopping at standard breakfast fare, the buffet emphasizes flavours from Kyushu and Fukuoka.
Rotating steamed dishes are a focus, alongside local choices such as tonkotsu ramen or goboten udon on selected days. Guests can take coffee back to their rooms after breakfast.
Location and transport
The best exit depends on how you arrive. Subway passengers have about a one-minute walk from West Exit 6, while those arriving by JR or Shinkansen should cross toward the Hakata Exit for the hotel's three-minute route.
Hakata brings the Sanyo and Kyushu Shinkansen, JR Kyushu services, the Airport Line, the Nanakuma Line, and the bus terminal together in one transport hub. That makes the surrounding Fukuoka-Hakata area convenient for early departures, regional rail trips, and a first or final night when luggage and connections matter.
Airport access
The Airport Line ride from Fukuoka Airport to Hakata takes about five minutes. The airport subway station connects directly with the domestic terminal, followed by the short walk from West Exit 6 to the hotel.
International passengers have an extra step. A free inter-terminal shuttle connects the international terminal with the domestic terminal and its subway station, while direct buses also run from the international terminal to Hakata Station. Allow time for that connection rather than treating the five-minute subway ride as the entire journey.
Why stay here
Short walks from both JR and the subway simplify Shinkansen journeys, airport connections, and rail day trips. The lounge, breakfast, and rooms starting at 18 square metres give the stay more to recommend it than station proximity alone.
JR Hakata City provides shopping and dining beside the station. Farther west, the temple and shrine streets of Hakata Old Town offer a different way to spend a few hours between journeys, so staying here doesn't have to be only about passing through.
Good to know
The hotel isn't connected to Hakata Station. West Exit 6 is closest when arriving by subway, while the Hakata Exit is the right landmark for JR and Shinkansen passengers.
Indoor parking is limited to 12 standard-size cars and can't be reserved. Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
